Hopeless romantic or nutter; you decide.

Much like 2007’s little-seen doc Crazy Love, Errol Morris’ latest work is a fascinating account of obsession, as baffling, ever-enticing former Miss Wymoning Joyce McKinney recounts her attempts (in vain) to rescue her Mormon lover from an apparently brainwashing sect, keen to keep him away from her. Muddying her tale with the counteracting claims of hack journos, Morris attempts to find a truth that doubtless lies inscrutibly between the two sides. Perhaps a minor work for Morris, but as ever with the veteran filmmaker, this is a dedicated, impassioned study.
